Our Mission
Our mission is to serve our patients and their loved ones with dignity and respect by providing compassionate care and the highest level of clinical excellence.
About
Stillwater Hospice is a great place to work as a provider or receive care as a patient. We believe in finding, enjoying, and achieving a better way in healthcare together by treating our team, patients, and healthcare partners as family.
We aim to improve quality of life by exceeding patient and family expectations of quality and coordination of care and encouraging patient choice. Our Hospice Team is committed to providing comfort and dignity through physical, emotional, and spiritual support. As health professionals, we are dedicated to educating the community about the benefits and effective use of Hospice.
What is hospice care
Hospice focuses on caring for individuals with a life-limiting illness. Our team collaborates to address the unique physical, emotional, social, and spiritual challenges that our patients and their loved ones face. We strive to improve quality of life while relieving pain and managing symptoms.
Who is eligible
Any person with a life-limiting illness is eligible for hospice care. Other criteria may be required for coverage by Medicare, Medicaid, or other insurances. We always recommend meeting with a member of our team that can help determine eligibility and answer any questions you may have.
When is the right time
Starting the conversation as soon as possible will allow the patient, their loved ones, the physician, and our team to work together to determine the right time. Our staff is always available to answer your questions.
Who pays for hospice care
Medicare covers the cost of hospice care 100%. Most other insurances providers, including Medicaid, also have a hospice benefit with little to no out-of-pocket costs. Our team is happy to work with you to answer any financial questions you may have.
Where do I receive hospice care
In most cases, we provide care in the location that the patient calls home. This includes the patient’s private home, the hove of a loved one, a nursing facility, or an assisted living facility.
